Dunedin Metro Junior Competition, Thursday 3.45-5.45pm

Metro Junior Touch is played 6 a side.

Competition Details

Social grades play a round robin competition for all 8 weeks, without results & finals - Ideal for unexperienced players.

Elite grades play for a trophy for the winner of the final and certificates for the winning and runner up teams (10 per team).

Development grades the overall grade winner will receive a trophy and certificates (10 per team)                    
 


2025 Term 1 Competition
Entry fee: $240 per team - All grades 8 weeks competition.

Registrations Close: Wednesday 5th February 2025.

Competition Start Date: Term 1 week 3 - Thurs 13th February 2025

Competition End Date:  Thurs 3rd April 2025   (All teams play - Finals for Elite Grades only)    


Grade eligibility:

Open Elite = Boys & Girls can play no minimum numbers of either.

Open Social = Boys & Girls can play no minimum numbers of either

Mixed Elite = Min 3 Girls on the field at one time.

Boys Elite = Boys only.

Girls Elite = Girls only.

Boys Development = Boys & Girls can play no minimum numbers of either.

Girls Development = Girls Only


Grades and times are dependant on the total teams entered, however the following times are our standard.

Game times (subject to field availability and team entries):
3.45pm Year 1-2 social, Year 3-4 Open Social
4.15pm or 4.45pm Year 5-6 Open Elite, Year 5-6 Girls Development, Year 5-6 Social

4.45pm Year 7-8 Girls Elite, Year 7-8 Girls Development

5.15pm Year 7-8 Boys Elite, Year 7-8 Open Social.

Each team needs to be prepared to referee one half of the match.

We will have some Year 7/8 students taking part in the Junior referee academy who will referee as many Year 1-4 games as possible, however we may not be able to cover all games, so please prepare to referee 50/50 if required.

School Registration process
 This competition is primarily a Schools based module and registrations are managed via the Schools Sporty login that may have been used for other Otago winter sports. If your School Sport Coordinator has changed or you haven't previously used Sporty, please contact admin@otagotouch.co.nz with details of your main contact name, email and phone number.

Once your team has been registered you will also be able to register all your players and assign them to your teams via Sporty.

Your School administrator/Secretary will be sent an invoice for all registrered treams.
